Child Counselling

Many young children can experience a number of issues in their lives that can have an impact on their mental health. 

You may notice your child begin to withdraw, act out at home and/or at school, fall behind academically or complain of having no friends!


When working with children a therapist needs to consider the child's development and capacity to process their world. Typically a play based approach to working with children therapeutically is adopted as play is the natural language for children.

Adolescent Counselling and Therapy

Navigating through the teenage years can be a stressful and sometimes alienating period for an adolescent and their families. During this time teens can be exposed to range of stressors in their lives that can sometimes seem too overwhelming to manage on their own.


Some of the most common teenage issues that can arise during this period incl;

  • Underage drinking and illegal drug use

Adult Therapies

Psychological Assessments

mbmpsychology  offers a range of psychological assessment services for children and adolescents. 


There are many reasons an assessment is required which includes concerns regarding academic and/or learning development, to gain more information regarding social, emotional and behavioural development, adaptive behaviours and to inform behavioural treatment plans.

Cognitive assessments

An IQ or psychometric assessment assists measure intellectual ability and can provide useful information regarding learning styles and potential.



Academic assessments

Provides a useful measures of how a child/adolescent is performing over a range of academic skill areas.  


Behavioural Assessments

Provide information to assist with understanding problematic behaviours and emotions of children and adolescents which may include anxiety, social issues, aggression.
